EvoShield, a leader in on-field protective equipment for lacrosse, baseball, softball, football and other sports, designed and produced an all-new protective chest guard shirt to safeguard players in the Premier Lacrosse League, the world’s most competitive professional outdoor lacrosse organization.

After the Premier Lacrosse League approached EvoShield to help find a solution for protecting players against chest and heart injuries, EvoShield worked to adapt its Adult NOCSAE® Protective Chest Shirt to lacrosse. The final product used the chest guard from the EvoShield Lacrosse Shoulder Pads, , inserting the guard within a compression shirt. The performance shirt houses the lacrosse chest shield SEI Certified to the NOCSAE® Standard for commotio cordis, and the PLL will advise its players to wear this shirt during gameplay once the 2023 season begins June 3.

EvoShield’s original Adult NOCSAE® Protective Chest Shirt features a performance fabric to map the player’s body without restricting movement. A pocket in the front of the shirt houses a chest shield SEI certified to meet the NOCSAE® Standard for commotio cordis in baseball. To make this shirt suitable for lacrosse, EvoShield had to replace the chest shield with a different pad SEI Certified to the NOCSAE® standard for commotio cordis in the contact sport. The new shirt will have an altered pocket to house the lacrosse chest shield from the EvoShield Lacrosse Shoulder Pads. This product for the PLL, the Adult NOCSAE® Lacrosse Protective Chest Shirt, will be available for consumers late in 2023.
