EvoShield, Taylor Haugen Foundation Outfit Norman North High School

Ahead of the 2023 high school football season, it’s more important than ever for players and their families to prioritize safety on the field. The significance of high quality, dependable football protective gear can’t be overstated. Protective gear serves as the first line of defense against potentially serious injuries.

On Friday, July 21, EvoShield and the Taylor Haugen Foundation fitted 136 varsity and junior varsity football players at Norman North High School with the help of Oklahoma Sooners stars and EvoGenerals Dillon Gabriel and Jalil Farooq. This collaboration is aimed at emphasizing the importance of protecting young athletes from injuries while they play the game they love.

The Taylor Haugen Foundation was founded in 2011 by Brian and Kathy Haugen. They established the foundation in honor of their son, Taylor Haugen, who died from an internal injury during a football scrimmage. Since his passing, Brian and Kathy have fought relentlessly to protect middle school and high school players from sustaining internal injuries. In partnership with EvoShield, the foundation has fit high school players across the country with EvoShield’s protective rib shirt.

Dillon Gabriel and Jalil Farooq played a significant role in the fitting at Norman North High School, showcasing their own experiences wearing the EvoShield rib shirt. Gabriel attested to the rib shirt’s comfort and efficacy.

“I would never play a game without the rib shirt,” Gabriel said. “It’s just so functional that it’s molded to my body and every movement I make.”
